“Collaboration with Human Trafficking Survivor-Leaders is a feature of Warnath Group programs and strengthens every aspect of our work."
– Stephen Warnath, CEO & President
Our Approach
A pillar of Warnath Group’s global training and technical assistance programs is utilizing a survivor-informed approach. Survivor knowledge and expertise in crafting effective programs and strategies to address human trafficking is invaluable.
Survivor expert consultants are key members of the Warnath Group expert team working globally with governments to prevent trafficking, prosecute traffickers, protect and support victims, and foster partnerships and collaboration to these ends. They design, lead, and evaluate training sessions; write technical assistance products; review Warnath Group publications; and serve as advisors. It is important that our partnerships with survivor expert consultants be deeply collaborative and promote better understanding and inclusivity, not sensationalism or traumatization.
In the video below, Warnath Group expert Bella Hounakey shares her experience working with Warnath Group. Ms. Hounakey brings outstanding expertise to Warnath Group, providing expert leadership and guidance; designing, delivering, and evaluating trainings; and conducting technical reviews. One particular accomplishment highlighted by Ms. Hounakey in the video is how she now works on Warnath Group teams with the retired law enforcement agent who interviewed her after she was removed from a trafficking situation as a minor.
