A Warnath Group team, including CEO Stephen Warnath, traveled to Haiti January 20-23, 2014 for high-level meetings with Haitian government officials to discuss WG’s comprehensive legal analysis and recommendations on the then proposed new anti-trafficking legislation.

These meetings represented a continuation of WG consultations and follow upon prior meetings in Haiti in 2013 with Haitian government officials, international organizations, local non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders to discuss provisions of earlier versions of the proposed legislation.

This legislation, which is designed to strengthen Haiti’s response to human trafficking, includes measures to strengthen prosecutions of traffickers, protect and assist victims of trafficking and prevent human trafficking.  As of June 2014, both chambers of the Haitian Parliament passed the legislation, and it was signed into law and promulgated by the President.
